I am so thrilled to be invited as a feature story in the "Women Lawyers of Ontario" series by the Women Law Association of Ontario. In my interview, I explored career highlights and my background as a Canadian lawyer.
There was no inflection point - a career in law was my “calling” and I streamlined all of my goals with that in mind. Having worked across two global law firms, my experience includes all aspects of complex technology and patent litigation, copyright matters, trademark prosecution, IP portfolio management, privacy, data protection, competition law and marketing & advertising.
The pandemic has taught us that we need connection and community in our lives now more than ever. I believe that human connection is the reason why Mindful Lawyer Canada is thriving as an inclusive community. I discussed the impact of the most influential woman in my life, my mother. I have learned a lot from her: being prepared, working hard, having integrity, building strong relationships, and always helping others.
The Women’s Law Association of Ontario is dedicated to empowering women in the legal profession by providing a collective voice and advocating for equality, diversity and change. Since 1919, WLAO has been providing leadership and support to advance the status of women in the legal profession. I am humbled to be in the esteemed company of female colleagues, mentors and peers in the legal profession in Canada.
